We believe that God alone created the universe and all living things. The universe itself points back to its Creator and provides ample evidence of God’s existence and love for people. Of all creatures, man is most like God. Having been created in His image,we think, we reason, we choose ,and we recognize spiritual realities. In other words, we have soul and spirit.
Our distant human forefather (Adam) choose disobedience (sin) toward God at a crucial point of time in our history. This Spirit of Disobedience toward God became a part of our spiritual DNA to the extent that all mankind now possesses and exhibits this spirit of disobedience and disloyalty. God is completely separate from sin (holy) and He alone fully comprehends its destructive nature. As a result, sinful man cannot enjoy God’s presence and faces eternal judgment.
Because of God’s great love for man and his desire for him to be saved from the ultimate consequence of disobedience, He laid out and executed a plan of salvation. The plan entails God becoming a man (Jesus) and taking the penalty and absorbing the destructiveness of sin on Himself even though he was not guilty. This sacrifice allowed him to offer mankind the possibility of escaping sins inevitable penalty and consequences. The requirement man must meet is turning away (repentance) from sin and fully embracing (Faith) Jesus and His total work on behalf of the guilty.
After reception of Christ’s work on their behalf, every person receives a new life and a new name or designation (Christian or “christ”man). The life of the Christian is one that submits to God in love and obedience to His will as revealed in the Bible (God’s love letter to His children). God desire is that His children love Him. One of the greatest acts of our love to Gd is to live a life in submission to His will which includes spreading this message of good news (the gospel) to all the peoples of the world.
The Bible
The Bible is completely true and totally reliable. The Bible should be read, studied, and absorbed by all as God’s love letter to His children.
God
There is one God. He is experienced by people as God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. He loves man and desires man to love Him. His chief attribute is His holiness.
Jesus
Jesus is the only begotten eternal Son of God. He stands equal with God. He became part of humanity (flesh) through His virgin birth to Mary. As Messiah and Savior, Christ fulfilled completely God’s redemptive plan for man by His death on the cross, the shedding of His blood, and His bodily resurrection. In the future He will again return bodily to earth.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is active today in the lives of people. He leads and strengthens God’s people, convicts non-Christians of future judgment while pointing them to Christ as the answer.
Salvation
Salvation is by repentance from sin and trust in Jesus Christ and His completed work on man’s behalf. This is possible only by God’s choosing and His grace. Salvation cannot be accomplished apart from Christ, and our best works can in no way earn salvation.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
While baptism and the Lord’s supper have very meaningful layers of teaching and encouragement, from man’s perspective they demonstrate love for and faith in God.
The family
The family is God’s ordained plan for human society. Each member (father, mother, and children) have responsibilities and privileges.
The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ. It is made up of baptized believers gathered together for the purpose of evangelism, discipleship, worship, fellowship, and ministry.
